Guidelines on Labour Migration and Development

The Churches Commission for Migrants in Europe, Diakonie Germany and Bread for the World have organised a round table discussion on 14 November 2012 in Brussels in which they presented the publication “Guidelines on Labour Migration and Development”.

The guidelines demand that the rights of migrants become the focus of attention while also considering the needs of the countries of origin. They suggest answers to questions such as the need for immigration, what kind of regulations are needed to protect migrants, and which factors need to be considered, both for the labour market as well as with regard to the long-term effects of migration on the countries of origin.
